Thank you for considering the Anchorage International Film Festival (AIFF)! In our call for entries, we invite you to participate in a festival unlike any other. The integrity of our selection process is second to none. We truly love to gorge on the diverse array of entry submissions that we receive each season. During our long, early, dark winter we find it invigorating to immerse ourselves in the selection process. It is actually a guilty pleasure for us.
We also encourage you to make the journey north to join the many other independent filmmakers and special guests that are adventurous enough to come and discover the independent spirit that embodies our beautiful city by the sea. If you’ve never been to Alaska, December is one of the most spectacular times of the year.
In the past, AIFF has been covered by international media such as the Sundance Channel, Premiere Magazine, and Canal Plus. Our attendance is expected to surpass the 10,000 mark this year, which is phenomenal for a 7 year-old event in a city the size of Anchorage. The enthusiasm, sophistication and passion of our audiences will amaze you. Our main theater, the spectacular 420-seat Bear Tooth Theatre Pub, offers delectable food and brewpub libations while you indulge in vibrant visions on the silver screen.
For more information about this year’s event or better insight to our programming philosophy, please feel free to contact the appropriate program coordinator. Contact emails can be found on the “Cast and Crew” section of this website. Otherwise, stay tuned. Updates and postings will be added to this site as we get nearer to AIFF 2008.
Best Wishes,
Staff, Anchorage International Film Festival 2008

This year we’ll hold 75 screenings in multiple theaters around Anchorage. At least 150 works will be selected to screen over ten days. We love film, but are happy to show high quality video productions as well.
Submissions must be received by September 1, 2008.

We hope you had a great 2007 festival. We could not have done it without all the volunteers and a few draftees. You rock! Next year we are doubling your pay. Kudos also to the filmmakers, the festival cast and crew, and our generous sponsors. Thanks for supporting the festival.
We are now starting to plan and organize for the 2008 festival, so stay tuned for another great year.
